Jeep plans to convert 50% of its sales by 2025 into electric vehicles, and two new BEVs will help the brand meet this goal. The Recon and Wagoneer S will mark Jeep’s debut as all-electric models in North America.
Soon enough, however, another model will join them: the smaller Avenger will become their inaugural EV in Europe.
The Wrangler
In an attempt to capture the spirit of military Jeeps used during World War II, Jeep has developed the Wrangler as an all-terrain SUV with legendary capabilities. Now in its fourth generation, known as JL or Jeep JL (two and four door versions available), this all-terrain vehicle comes complete with removable top and doors as well as separate body/frame, rigid front axles and more.
The 2023 Wrangler lineup boasts models with EcoDiesel, plug-in hybrid and V8 engines as well as the capable Rubicon 392 variant. Furthermore, there’s a diverse array of Wranglers from Sport models to luxury-oriented High Altitude variants for each personality imaginable.
The all-electric Recon is designed to take Wrangler adventurers into near silence, and will feature traditional Jeep features like Selec-Terrain traction management system, e-locker axle technology, underbody protection, tow hooks and tow hooks. In 2023 will also come Avenger, another smaller SUV which won’t reach American shores.
The Grand Wagoneer
Last year, Jeep unveiled its luxurious large SUV known as the Wagoneer once more. Intended to compete with luxury models like Cadillac Escalade and Lincoln Navigator Black Label, its eight-passenger Grand Wagoneer is huge with screens taking center stage inside. A 12-inch center display dominates, but buyers can add on an additional 10.3-inch display in Series II vehicles.
The Grand Wagoneer strives to elevate American luxury to new levels with every seat offering an exceptional experience. This vehicle boasts best-in-class towing capacity, advanced technologies and safety features, stylish exterior design inspired by American landscapes, an intuitive Uconnect system with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto capability as well as an exquisite McIntosh audio system featuring 23 speakers to deliver premium entertainment experiences on the road.
The Compass
Jeep’s Compass SUV remains a capable off-roader, boasting its compact dimensions that help it navigate narrow trails while still offering ample cabin space for driver and passengers. It is an especially great choice for those who enjoy taking their vehicles off the beaten path more frequently but don’t require one capable of traversing extreme terrain.
Though the origins of Jeep remain obscure, its symbolism as an iconic and reliable vehicle are undeniable. From Manhattan to rural Australia, nearly everyone knows about or has encountered one – an all-terrain vehicle capable of “going anywhere and doing anything”. Stellantis announced in 2023 that Jeep’s first electric SUV will become available – likely similar in size to Compass but built on Auburn Hills-engineered STLA Large platform; one of four global underpinnings used by Stellantis’ BEVs.
The Cherokee
The Cherokee SUV became one of the first household names when it combined four-wheel drive capability with family car comfort and ease-of-driving in a compact package. This classic set the bar high for later models while remaining popular today among buyers.
This SUV boasts impressive towing capability and comes equipped with over 80 standard and available safety and security features – reinforced with high strength steel for enhanced passenger protection.
The 2021 Jeep Cherokee stands between its predecessor, the Compass, and its big brother Wrangler in terms of popularity among drivers seeking a versatile off-road crossover vehicle. This Cherokee can ford creeks, scamper over boulders, and go to places its more urbane competitors cannot reach. Plus it features active safety features like automatic emergency braking and blind spot monitoring with lane keeping assist as standard features. Plus for 2021 there’s also been an upgrade in standard features – Uconnect ACCESS 8.4A infotainment system with larger 8.4 inch touchscreen interface plus more front seat comforts included as standard features.
