The Car-X network is still growing, but Monro Inc. has rebadged eight Sawyer Tire Co. locations in southwest Missouri and four Liberty Auto Group tire store outlets in Minnesota. The company now owns 53 Car-X Tire locations, including those owned by McMar Inc. in December 2015. During the last couple of years, Monro has acquired seven independent tire shops and converted them to the Car-X brand. These stores are in Illinois, Indiana, and Minnesota, where Mr.Tire stores are not allowed.

In addition to acquiring franchised Car-X locations, Monro also acquired eight Sawyer Tire Co. stores in southwest Missouri and four Liberty Auto Group outlets in Minnesota. As of last year, Monro has 54 Car-X locations across the Midwest. In April 2015, it purchased Tuffy Associates Corp.’s franchisee program. This meant rebadging half of the franchised stores, and rebranding them with the Car-X brand. Despite the changes in ownership, the number of franchised Car-X locations is still low, down from 146 in 2015.

The game has become a popular choice for many consumers. It has been around for a decade and has been a staple for the automotive industry. Its expansion strategy includes the franchised stores in Illinois, Indiana, and Minnesota, where Mr. Tire is not allowed.

Currently, Car-X has 54 locations in the Midwest and has recently rebranded four Liberty Auto Group tire stores in Minnesota. The brand has expanded its reach by acquiring eight Sawyer Tire Co. outlets in southern Missouri, and Monro has 53 Car-X locations in Illinois and Iowa. In 2015, the company bought the franchisee program from Tuffy Associates Corp., and subsequently, took on the ownership of half of the remaining franchisees. The new stores, though, are now under the Car-X brand, and the total number of franchised outlets has dropped.
